Rocky Point Creamery is a family-owned dairy farm offering ice cream and other dairy products. They have a room for private events and a playground. During the summer, they have a sunflower farm and are featured on the Maryland ice cream trail. At mile marker 48.4, leave the towpath and turn right on Commerce St. Turn left on Monroe St. and right on Clay St. Continue for 1.3 miles, and Rocky Point Creamery will be on your right.

There has been a lapse in appropriations, and a shutdown of the federal government is currently in effect. Much of the C&O Canal National Historical Park remains accessible to the public, however, the National Park Service is not able to operate as normal. Scheduled C&O Canal Trust events and Canal Quarters reservations will continue as scheduled.
