Hancock

Access shops and dining in downtown Hancock by crossing an iron truss bridge over the canal to the intersection of Main and Church Street. Hancock is a small town with a rich history. It was an earlier frontier settlement subject to Indian raids. Its economy was built by, and still relies on, developing transportation systems in the nineteenth and twentieth centuries. The town was greatly affected during the Civil War as armies sought to control the intersection of three transportation routes: road, canal and railroad.
