Canal Quarters:
Welcome and thank you for your interest in the Canal Quarters program! Each of our seven historic lockhouses have been professionally rehabilitated through a cooperative agreement with the National Park Service, and are available for you, your family, and friends to enjoy for up to three nights. Step back in time and experience what Canal life was like 60, 90, or 150 years ago.
Each Lockhouse has been furnished and decorated to reflect a unique time period of the Canal’s history, and they all tell a different story about the daily life of the lock keepers, who played an integral role in the Canal’s operation. We encourage you to spend the night at all seven – each provides a distinctive experience!
Our Lockhouses can accommodate up to 8 overnight guests and are the perfect destination for romantic couples getaways, family vacations, reunions, girls’ weekends, scout troop lodging, and are a wonderful place to have parties, celebrate holidays, or commemorate a special event. Of course, the lockhouses are also perfect for any history buff, national park afficionado, or nature lover. The reservation calendar fills quickly, so be sure to reserve your date soon!

Please Note: Lockhouses 6, 10, 21, and 49 are professionally cleaned between each guest. Cleaning staff focus on high-touch surfaces such as doorknobs, light switches, furniture, and cooking implements. At all Lockhouses, guests are expected to leave the house better than they found it- This includes removing all trash and tidying up before departure.
