Canal Quarters
Reserve a Night in History!
Welcome to the Canal Quarters Program home page! Through a close partnership with the National Park Service, the Trust works to preserve historic, 200-year-old lockhouses along the canal.
Thanks to your support, seven structures have been rehabilitated and furnished for overnight accommodations and educational programming. Guests now have the unique opportunity to reserve a lockhouse for up to three nights!
The entirety of your registration fee is used to maintain these historic homes, provide educational experiences, and to rehabilitate additional structures.
Each of our seven lockhouses are themed for a specific part of the Canal’s history, and can accommodate up to 8 overnight guests. Amenities vary by house. Guests must supply their own linens. Please see each house’s home page for detailed information.
Before you book, please review our Frequently Asked Questions to learn more about the Canal Quarters program, and what to expect during your stay.
For additional inquiries, please first email [email protected], or call 240-202-2625. For non-urgent matters, Trust staff will respond to inquiries Monday-Friday between 8am-4pm ET. Urgent calls will be answered 7 days a week until 8pm ET.
