Thomas Shepherd Inn is a classic bed & breakfast in downtown Shepherdstown. The Inn was built in 1868 and converted to an inn in 1984. The innkeepers supply a homemade breakfast, complimentary sherry, fresh cookies, and an endless supply of hospitality. At mile marker 72.7, take the circuitous ramp from the towpath to Shepherdstown Pike. At the top of the ramp, turn left and cross the bridge on a wide sidewalk. Continue for 1 mile, and Thomas Shepherd Inn will be on the corner of W. German St. and S. Duke St.

Much of the C&O Canal National Historical Park remains accessible to the public, however, the National Park Service is not able to operate as normal. Scheduled C&O Canal Trust events and Canal Quarters reservations will continue as scheduled.
