Happy Hills is a family-owned campground open year-round. They have 200 tent camping sites and full hookup sites, a snack bar, swimming pool, laundromat, and mini-golf. They hold family activities in the summer and fall. Coming from the east at mile marker 124.5, leave the towpath, turn right on Berm Rd., left on S. Pennsylvania Ave, and left on the Western Maryland Rail Trail. Ride parallel to the C&O Canal for 5.5 miles and then turn right on Seavolt Rd. Continue for .5 miles, and Happy Hills Campground will be on your right. Coming from the west at mile marker 136.2, leave the towpath and take the Western Maryland Rail Trail for 6 miles. Take a slight left onto Seavolt Rd. Continue for .5 miles, and Happy Hills Campground will be on your right.

There has been a lapse in appropriations, and a shutdown of the federal government is currently in effect. Much of the C&O Canal National Historical Park remains accessible to the public, however, the National Park Service is not able to operate as normal. Scheduled C&O Canal Trust events and Canal Quarters reservations will continue as scheduled.
