The Poolesville Old Town Bank Museum is housed in the former Town Hall and National Bank and has been restored to its former appearance. A Civil War exhibit takes you through Poolesville’s role in the war with town artifacts and encampment replicas. Rotating events and exhibits include art shows, author forums, tributes to African American heritage, and the history of the Monocacy Cemetery.

There has been a lapse in appropriations, and a shutdown of the federal government is currently in effect. Much of the C&O Canal National Historical Park remains accessible to the public, however, the National Park Service is not able to operate as normal. Scheduled C&O Canal Trust events and Canal Quarters reservations will continue as scheduled.
