The Hancock Motel is a family run 22-room motel that serves a continental breakfast and is pet-friendly. Eighteen rooms are on the ground floor, making them easy access for the bikers. They provide a hose for bike washing. At mile marker 124.5, leave the towpath and turn right on Berm Rd., and left on Williams St. Turn left on W. Main Street and then turn left on Blue Hill. The Hancock Motel will be on your right.

There has been a lapse in appropriations, and a shutdown of the federal government is currently in effect. Much of the C&O Canal National Historical Park remains accessible to the public, however, the National Park Service is not able to operate as normal. Scheduled C&O Canal Trust events and Canal Quarters reservations will continue as scheduled.
