Since you and your family are dedicated users of the C&O Canal, you know how important the C&O Canal National Historical Park is. The C&O Canal Trust works hand-in-hand with Park staff to maintain and preserve the natural resources you enjoy!
Your gift will help us with our following 2016 goals:
Rehabilitating Swains Lockhouse. Due to the success of Canal Quarters, we are adding a seventh lockhouse to the program! Over the next year, we will be raising money to support the construction, roofing, painting, electrical work, plumbing, and furnishings needed to preserve this lockhouse and make it habitable.
Funding another successful year of Canal Classrooms. We will be raising another $65,000 to support the ongoing opportunities the Park’s education program offers to school-age children in public and private schools.
Expanding and enhancing our four Park Partner programs. The Canal Pride, Canal Quarters, Canal Discoveries and Canal Towns Partnership programs provide Park visitors many creative opportunities: overnight stays, virtual tours, small town tourism, volunteer opportunities, and much more.
Giving Options:
- Become a Canal Keeper by committing to a monthly recurring gift of $15 or more. Canal Keepers receive our beautiful calendar with pictures taken along the canal by visitors to the Park.

Become a member of the William O. Douglas Society, our leadership giving society, with a gift of $1,000 or more.

Make a gift of $1 or more for each of the 184.5 miles of the towpath.
