From River Road:
Pennyfield Lock is located directly off of River Road. Coming from DC heading West after exiting I-495, head down River Road passing the town center of Potomac, Maryland. Continue to drive straight. Just before you reach Pennyfield Lock Road, you will see signs for “Travilah Road.” Pennyfield Lock is the next left at the intersection. Take a left onto Pennyfield Lock Road. You should see a sign for historic “Tobytown.” Follow the road straight for about 1/2 mile, then bear left to reach the parking lot.
From Parking Lot:
The end of Pennyfield Lock Road has a small parking lot. Parking is also permitted on either side of the road. From the parking lot, proceed on the path for approximately 500ft. Past the footbridge, the lockhouse will be directly ahead.
