Point of Rocks Boat Ramp

Vehicle Access is in the Point of Rocks Boat Ramp Parking Lot. Guests may park anywhere in the lot, then walk the towpath for 3/4 mile to access the house.

Towpath Users will see the Lockhouse directly on the path at Lock 28, Mile Marker 48.9

From I-70 East: Continue Eastbound past Hagerstown. Just before Frederick, take exit 52A and merge onto US-15 South. Continue for 8 miles, then turn onto Clay Street in Point of Rocks. Turn right on Monroe Street, then continue straight until you reach the train tracks. Turn right on Commerce Street. Continue straight. A small bridge will indicate Canal Road. Turn left, then follow signage to the C&O Canal’s Point of Rocks parking lot.

From I-70 West: Continue West past Mt. Airy. Just past Frederick, take exit 52 and merge onto US-15 S/US-340 W. From here, same directions as above.

From the parking lot: Continue straight past public restrooms. A gravel walkway indicates the C&O Canal trail. Take a left at the gate. Walk for 3/4 mile. Lockhouse 28 will be on the lefthand side of the path.
