Girl Scout Brownie Hiker Badge Workshop

Calling all Brownie Girl Scouts!

Get ready to hit the trail! Join the C&O Canal Trust at the C&O Canal National Historical Park, Big Slackwater Boat Ramp in Sharpsburg, MD and earn your Brownie Hiker Badge.

Brownie Girl Scouts (2nd and 3rd grade) will learn how to be safe and responsible hikers while exploring the C&O Canal Towpath. Through hands-on activities, scouts will complete all of the requirements to earn the Brownie Hiker Badge. They will practice choosing the right gear, make an energizing snack and embark on a leisurely, scenic hike through Big Slackwater and Dam 4 (easy level, approximately 2 miles total).
