For vehicle access, please use the Lock 6 Parking lot, directly off of the Clara Barton Parkway.
Please Note: The Lock 6 Parking Lot is not accessible from 3 p.m. – 7:00 p.m. Monday–Friday due to the traffic reversal on the Clara Barton Parkway.
There is no traffic reversal on Saturday or Sunday, and this does not affect access to the house from the C&O Canal Towpath:
If you are driving to Lockhouse 6:
- Check In: 2pm – 2:45pm, or after 7:15pm
- Check Out: 10:00am or earlier
If you are arriving via the C&O Canal Towpath:
- Check In: 2:00pm or later
- Check Out: 10:00am or earlier
Note: If you are unable to reach Lockhouse 6 prior to 2:45 p.m. on a weekday, you may be able to find parking near Brookmont Church in the adjoining neighborhood:
Directions to Brookmont from Glen Echo:
Travel along MacArthur Blvd., towards the District of Columbia. Take a right onto Maryland Avenue to enter the Brookmont neighborhood. Take the second right onto Broad Street and follow for one block. There are some toll-free parking spots near the Brookmont Church
To access the Lockhouse from street parking, continue to follow Broad Street for one block and take a left on Valley Road. At the end of Valley Rd. you will see a footpath down to Clara Barton Parkway. Please use caution in crossing Clara Barton Parkway.
