C&O Canal Announces "Life and Death on the C&O Canal"
Potomac, Md. ? The Chesapeake and Ohio Canal National Historical Park will be presenting the thirteenth annual Life and Death on the C&O Canal program at the Great Falls Tavern on Saturday, October 17, 2009. Tours begin promptly at 6:30 p.m. and start every 15 minutes thereafter. Last tour begins at 9:00 p.m.
Costumed park rangers and volunteers will present the one hour guided tours. Visitors will witness historical vignettes portraying the life and death struggles of the men and women who lived and worked along the C&O Canal and glimpse the impact of accidents, epidemics and the Civil War. Parental discretion is advised.
Reservations for the event are required and will be taken starting Wednesday, October 1st at 9:00 a.m. Payment is required at the time of the reservation. The cost is $6.00 for adults, ages 14-61, $4.00 for seniors 62 and older, and for children 4-14. Children 3 and under are free. Call 301-767-3714 to make reservations
