Packhorse or Bottlers Ford

This Potomac River crossing at Milepost 71.4, a mile and a half downstream from Ferry Hill, was used by American Indians, German settlers and locals throughout the years. During the Civil War this was a frequent crossing point for both Union and Confederate troops.
