Mount Vernon Trail

This bicycle/walking trail was constructed by the National Park Service between the George Washington Memorial Parkway and the Potomac River in 1973. You can catch this 18 mile trail by crossing the Key Bridge in Georgetown across the Potomac. On your right hand side you can find Theodore Roosevelt Island. Continue downstream to visit the LBJ Memorial Grove, Navy Marine Memorial, Gravelly Point, Daingerfield Island, Jones Point Lighthouse, Bell Haven picnic area, Dyke Marsh, Riverside Park and Mount Vernon.
