Anglers Syncline

The syncline at Anglers was exposed when the Canal Company blasted off the rock on the downstream end of Widewater to make room for the canal. A syncline is a downward fold of rock where the layers of different rock strata can be seen. The Angler's Syncline is the best representation of this phenomenon in the park.
